(For university tutor ONLY)
This is my professional experience log, where I talk about the day to day activities I carried out during this module.
Choc & Cheese Project:
Today we met up discuss what we want our blog and youtube channel to include. Deciding on the topics of Beauty and fashion, we came up with the name for the blog/youtube channel which is ‘Choc and Cheese 818′. We spent the rest of the time setting up accounts, such as twitter and Instagram.
We met up in Coventry to do a photo shoot for our first blog post, due to weather conditions could only film in the garden. The main focus of the photo shoot was to showcase our different taste in fashion. We edited the photographs which took a few hours and then wrote the blog post to go with it.
Looked for fashion events to attend and carried out research for where would be the best place to go.
Today we wrote a review on the different nail polishes for the Barry collection as our first beauty post. We kept in contact through FaceTime.
We bought tickets to attend Manchester Fashion Week and discussed plans for where we would stay, plus travel cost.
The day of filming our first youtube video, we decided film an introduction video and a makeup tutorial for the first post. The process of film took a while today as we kept tripping over our words. It was our first time film anything like this together, but was an enjoyable experience. Priyanka then did my make- up a we filmed it a 5 minutes video.
Today we did a beauty cosmetic review of the products we had purchased from Lush. This involved editing images and placing them in collages for the post.
We met up in Coventry to book the tickets for the train and hotel to attend Manchester Fashion Week. It was a long process of having to find a hotel that was near both the hotel and the venue to event was being held at. We managed to get all the detail sort out in the end.
Today we took a trip to Birmingham so that we could shop for outfit to wear at the event in Manchester. We decided that we would at some point film a video for youtube detailing what we brought to wear.
Wrote a post to inform people about us starting up a YouTube channel. We notice to many beauty bloggers we follow personally have there own YouTube channels and thought it would be a good idea to make one.
19th -20th April
On the 19th we have travelled down to manchester all morning. We attended the Fashion week event and filmed a lot to be edited and put into a video to be upload to youtube. we arrived at the venue at 7 and were there until 10pm. We had the chance to network with some designs before we enjoyed the show.
On the 20th we travelled back to coventry and filmed a video about the event and what was in the goodie bags. This can be found on the main blog.
Our most recent post involved us talking about the product we use daily, for this we sent images to each other and split the role of who was going to edited the photo and write the post.
Allure Clinique Project: (All found on my Above Beauty blog)
On the 8th I had a meeting with the business owner Sharon to discuss potential work. We also discussed my role for the salon and what she would like me to promote. Tested out the Viber8 machine and talked to clients who used it to get more information about it.
Went to the salon to gather images of the Viber8 machine and clients who use it. Wrote a review on the Viber8 machine and did more research by myself to include into the post.
Had second meeting with Sharon to talk about semi-permanent makeup and look at a few demo’s of it being done on a client. Unfortunately I was not able to record it for privacy reasons of the client. Was able to gather some photos. After sat down with Sharon and talked about the ins and outs of semi-permanent makeup e.g health and safety, the science of it ect.
Wrote the post on semi-permanent makeup and included photos and extra information I researched myself.
Had another weekly meeting with Sharon to discuss a new topic she wanted me to promote. This week it was all about eyebrows which included, waxing, tinting and threading. I had the treatment of threading and tinting done on myself as before hand we discussed to let my eyebrows grow to do a more effective before and after post, which we thought would really help promote the business. Also discussed in detail this sort of treatment.
I wrote a post/ review ‘all about eyebrows’ and aded photos of myself before and after. I also gathered my own information as well as what Sharon gave me to include.
Again another meeting with Sharon to discuss the final topic of a shrinking body wrap called ‘honey I shrunk’ I watched the client go into the room to have the wrap done then seen the results after she had had it done. I was unable to see how to wrap actually works because of privacy reasons for the client. After I was given a bit of information to use in the post about it along with images of previous clients.
Wrote the post on ‘honey I shrunk’ body wrap and did a lot of research on the topic by myself.
Individual project: Above Beauty Blog
For the new season I wrote a spring beauty haul post on the items that I recently bought along with a review.
Today I wrote a review on Barry M gel nail polishes for my followers as it was a request from a few of them.
Wrote a makeup post again for my followers by request.
Wrote a review on our trip to Manchester Fashion Week including all the information from the designers and my opinion. I also edited and included a video from the fashion show.
Did another makeup post by request because of the new season.
Wrote a review on a beauty product and added images ect.
Recently I have done a makeup post which was linked to the last post I have done for my followers. Again it was a request from another blogger as it was in my last post.
I have been quite brief when listing my day to day activities as they can all be viewed on either Youtube, my blog or twitter.
So this is just a quick post to show you all my makeup look for today, which is my new spring/summer everyday look. I know summer is practically here so I decided to brighten up my look but at the same time as adding a touch of spring. By this I am talking about the pastel pinks and peach lipstick etc that can also be used for summer (but I like to think of it as spring).

Hello my lovelies,
Let me get straight down to it and tell you that the No7 Match Made Concealer is amazing! In my opinion it is anyway as it PERFECT for my skin tone, which has always been something that I have struggled to find for years. I have gone through concealers like crazy! The list is endless from Maybelline to Maxfactor and even Urban Decay! The ones that have came close have always been either to chalky that my under eyes would look grey or too dark that it wouldn’t brighten up my eyes. In the end I stuck to Urban Decaysconcealer in M16 as it was the best match for me, until I seen No7’s being advertised. When I saw that they were also match made I was over the moon because I already have their match made foundation that I have been using for 2 years now and I swear by it!
When I purchased the concealer I got it in the same shade as my foundation which is ‘Deeply Honey’ and I was amazed with the results when I applied it! It comes in white packaging and looks like this……
It just glides on and feels so light, like your not wearing anything and blends so well into the skin. You really do not need a lot so to get the best results apply a small amount first then build it to your preference to avoid it creasing.
Here is the difference between my Urban Decay Concealer compared to my N07 one. The difference in my eyes is massive as it completely changes my look. The Urban Decay pictures were taken during summer so I was darker, however I did have to apply more bronzer/contour more as the concealer was darker.
Finally the difference between the two concealers………
I would HIGHLY recommend No7’s match made concealer, especially if you are using their foundation. They are the perfect combo!

Hello my lovelies,
I am back with another post about the amazing treatments Allure Clinique has to offer!
Now we all know summer is approaching fast and at some point we all desire to either have that bikini body, a flat stomach, tone up or to just lose a few inches to feel good about ourselves, especially if we are jetting of to a holiday destination. I can confess that I am a woman in this situation as I am going away in less that a month eeeeeek! However, I am not panicking as I have been using the Viber8 Machine that I recently posted about for just under a month and will continue to until my holiday.
As if that is not enough, I am also going to go ahead and treat myself to the ‘Honey I Shrunk’ Body Wrap a few days before I go away. What is this? Sounds delicious don’t you think ladies? Well I don’t know about that but it is a weight loss treatment that gives you results that will make you feel delicious!
What is ‘Honey I Shrunk’ ?
It is an inch loss body wrap system that works by lipolysis. Lipolysis is a revolutionary method of removing unwanted fat from the areas you want, the fatty cells are broken down by the solution changing the tryglycerides within the cells into fatty acid which can be excreted by lymph vessels and tissue fluids.
Following on from the wrap, the solution conditions and keeps on working into your skin for up to 72 hours. As the fat cells have been destroyed, for new fat cells to grow, you would have to eat excessively or unhealthily. So, those newly shed inches will stay off as long as you keep to your regime and lay off the cheeseburgers.
How does it work?
Honey I shrunk Body Wrap is totally effortless for you, non-invasive, pain free and no mess. Whilst in your underwear you will be carefully measured, & then the Honey I Shrunk oil will be applied. You will then be wrapped in a special heat generating wrapture where you lie down for 60 minutes on a heated bed covered in warm blankets to let the Honey I shrunk oil work its magic & loose you inches!!
After 60 mins you will be unwrapped, and re-measured again in the same places to reveal your total body inch loss. This is a completely mess free treatment so all you need to do is get dressed again and you’re good to go. The Honey I shrunk oil continues to work for up to 72 hrs and it is preferable not to wash it off or shower until the next day.
Believe me ladies the results are real, even though have not had mine done yet I have seen it for myself on clients whilst I was at Allure Clinique. For example the client that had just had the ‘Honey I shrunk’ wrap, lost a wopping 17 inches! How amazing is that! Although the results do vary depending on the client, so for all you skeptics thinking that this is another myth think again as each client’s results at Allure Clinique have been between 10.5 – 18.5 inches! At only £50 as well for your whole body, whats not to love about this treatment?
If you are still a bit skeptical, here is photographic evidence from the Allure Clinique website itself to show how amazing this wrap truly is………..
This makes me even more excited to have mine done in the next 3 weeks! What do you think ladies…..would you give it a go?

Hello my loves,
I am back with another post about the amazing treatments available at Allure Clinique. This post is completely dedicated to BROWS! Firstly, I think brows are so important and it is more important to get them right! If they are not done properly it could ruin your whole look.
I am terrible when it comes to my own brows as I leave them for so long and loose the shape, which usually makes it harder for me to get my desired shape back. This is where Allure Clinique comes in as recently I have had my eyebrows both threaded and tinted because they were soo bad! They were gappy, uneven and I absolutely hated them! When I used to fill them in I had to create a more thicker brow which made them too thick for my face. When I had them done I loved them as I could really see the difference of how it suited my face and I loved the shape! Compared to where I would usually go, Allure Clinique did not tell me what shape I should have my brows or what would suit me best. Instead they took into consideration how I wanted my brows to look and discussed the options of what I could do to them.
Allure Cliniques shaping of brows is unique to each individual, they believe that taking the frame of individuals face into consideration is so important when getting the ideal style along with the correct length and colour. Allure are very passionate about brows as they believe brows build character and definition and I agree with them!
To show you ladies the difference Allure has made for me here is a before and after of my brows………..
Since having my eyebrows styled by Allure they have now gained thickness, which suits my face frame. I still love a full defined brow, however now I can tell the difference of before and after. Allure shape brows by either waxing (using PhD wax) or though the art of threading.
PhD waxing is a procedure used for hair removal. Heated wax is applied to a hairy area on the legs, face, or other parts of the body, and when it completely dries, it is pulled off along with the unsightly hair. Although this is the same procedure used in many spas and salons, a PhD waxing is a bit different. The abbreviated PhD means that this type of waxing is professional, hygienic and disposable. It can eliminate the chances of infections associated with waxing.
When PhD waxing is done, the wax comes out of a tube. These tubes are completely sealed, so that no germs can contaminate the wax. An applicator is placed onto the tube and used to spread on the wax. Each applicator is disposable and they are thrown away after every application. Applicators come in many sizes and shapes to make hair removal easier even in hard to reach places.
The way threading works is by using a cotton thread that is pulled along unwanted hair in a twisting motion, which traps hair in a mini lasso, and lifts hair right out of the follicle. This usually lasts for around two weeks maybe longer, depending on individuals hair growth.
Before Allure Shaped my brows I had them tinted, which helped fill in the gaps and gave my brows clear definition one threaded. Whilst doing the tint Allure made sure that the right colour was used on my brows, this is was soo important because if the tint colour wasn’t matched to my hair colour it would of completely gave me the wrong look! Believe me that would have not been attractive….Moving on……..
In my eyes Allure have completely revamped my eyebrows and I am in love with them! Before I used to leave them for so long then they lost their shape, which lead to me making my brows uneven or a shape that I didn’t like. Also a few years ago it resulted to me over plucking my eyebrows and lazied this was a disaster! I almost had none left! This is why Allure believe tweezers need to be banned! As people like myself (a few years ago) get addicted to over plucking which results in uneven or sparse shaped brows. Now everyone experiences this from time to time and it is not something to be embarrassed about as it is so easy to fix.
For example here is a guide to what brows should and shouldn’t look like…..
The right shape for your face:
How eyebrows shouldn’t look:
What do you think ladies, am I right? Do eyebrows need to come before your makeup? I think it does!

I have not done a Makeup of the Day post in such a long time so I felt that it was a must to post one! This look is what I would call ‘A not quite summer glow’. What I mean by this is that it is still spring and even though the weather is starting to get better, it is not time to start doing an everyday summer glow to your routine.
Here is the look I created……..
I would describe this look as a bronzy rosy brown sort of look if that makes sense? All the colours are perfect for spring but at the same time the glow makes it more of a summery look, especially when the light hits my face.
I created this look by using a MAC Eyeshadow Pigment in ‘Chocolate brown’ which looks more like a coppery/ bronzy brown when applied.
I also used Urban Decays naked 1 palette with colours ‘Buck’ and ‘Dark horse’ along with another eyeshadow by MAC called ‘Espresso’.
For my face I did my usual routine with No7 Beautifully Matte Foundation in ‘Deeply honey’ along with their match made concealer in the same shade. For highlight I used No7 liquid highlight and No7 bronzer along with MAC Blush in ‘Peaches’. For my brows I used Beauty UK high brow kit. For mascara I actually use two different ones which are Loreal telescopic and Maybelline colossal smoky volume express both in black.
What do you ladies think of this look? Would you wear it for summer or even spring?
